William “Bill” Barnett, Alderman of Ward 3, passed away June 9, 2022. Since July 1, 2009, he has proudly served the City of Clinton as Alderman of Ward 3. Alderman Barnett is a retired Procter and Gamble employee and U.S. Army Reserve Colonel. He was heavily involved in the Lions Club, served on the Clinton Main Street Board of Directors, and was an advocate for the Wood Activity and Therapeutic Center of Clinton. Alderman Barnett was a resident of Clinton since 1967. The City of Clinton will greatly miss his smile, leadership, and involvement. “I’ve known Bill Barnett since 1985 when we worked together at Procter and Gamble. Later, we both served the City of Clinton in various roles. Bill Barnett was the most solid, knowledgeable Alderman I’ve served with. He wasn’t flamboyant, but when he spoke, wise people listened,” said Mayor Phil Fisher |
